WordPress is a powerful personal publishing platform, and it comes with a great set of features designed to make creating your own website (or blog) as easy, pleasant and appealing as possible.

In this 2 part comprehensive, hands-on WordPress training class, you’ll learn to use WordPress to set-up and manage your website. You’ll discover how to organize and manage your content, install themes, and add functionality through the use of important plugins.

No experience with computer graphics or coding is required! At the completion of the course, you will have a fully functioning three-page website and the skills required to run it!

Session 1 (free) — Overview, Installation & Setup

You will leave this 1½ hour class with a thorough understanding of WordPress’s powerful capability. And, you’ll learn how to…

• Acquire a web host
• Install WordPress
• Choose a WordPress theme (there are thousands to choose from)
• Understand the WordPress dashboard
• Configure basic settings
• Write powerful, attention grabbing content

Session 2 ($50 fee, $35 if Capaldi Web hosts your website) — Build your own three-page website

You’ll walk out of this 3-hour workshop with a three page website completed…we guarantee! And you’ll learn how to…

• Add content (we’ll supply fictitious content that you can replace with authentic copy)
• Insert images into posts and pages
• Use widgets
• Install and use plugins
• Create blog posts

You must bring your own laptop for Session 2 of the course.

This two-part workshop (the second part is optional) teaches you how to build your own WordPress website without having to know HTML!

The first session is “FREE”. If you choose to attend the second session, the fee is $50.00. The more advanced users can skip the first session and just call 523-2449 to participate in the second workshop.
