Draw a Breath Asthma Program

Stony Lane Elementry School, in conjunction with the Community Asthma programs of Hasbro Children's Hospital are offering an asthma education workshop. 

Babysitting, pizza and a raffle for families who attend the workshop will be provided.  Also, each child with asthma will go home with a peak flow meter.  The workshop will consist of an educational class for parents and a class for children ages 6 - 12.  This will provide an opportunity for children to learn how to take care of their asthma.

  • How to manage asthma 
  • How asthma affects your lungs 
  • How to use your asthma medications
  • How to recognize asthma symptoms
  • How to control asthma triggers
  • How to use a peak flow meter and spacer
  • How to communicate about their asthma with doctors, nurses, school staff, and family
