George Washington: Lessons in Leadership

The story of George Washington has been so embellished over the years that it is now difficult to separate the man from the myth. Historian Gerald M. Carbone set out to find the true story of George Washington's early years, from birth through the American Revolution, and discovered that, stripped of embellishment, Washington's story is even better. His is the story of a child left fatherless who goes on to become the father of his country; it is the story of a young militia officer who errs often in battle, learns from his mistakes, and develops a leadership style that allows him to build from scratch an army capable of beating the most powerful army on earth.
