Nipsachuck is a place in northern Rhode Island of enduring ceremonial importance to Native American people. In this presentation Doug Harris, preservationist, and Paul Robinson, archaeologist, will discuss their research into Nipsachuck. Two major conflicts took place at this site during the King Philip’s War, 1675-1676. Their research is assisted by a grant from the American Battlefield Protection Program at the National Park Service, U.S. Department of Interior. This presentation is sponsored by Smith's Castle.
