Whooping Cough Clinic

The Rhode Island Department of Health, in collaboration with town and school officials from North Kingstown and Jamestown, will hold a Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccination clinic for the general public at North Kingstown High School on Thursday, July 19 and Monday, July 23 from 4 to 7 p.m.

This Tdap clinic is being held to prevent further spread of an outbreak of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, in North Kingstown.

Persons age 10 and older are encouraged to receive the shot if they have not already done so. Pertussis is a highly contagious disease caused by a bacterial infection of the lungs. Severe illness can be prevented through vaccination.
