Community Update

At the July 17 Town Council meeting, Tim Cranston was proclaimed the official NK Town Historian. This was written up in the Standard Times, but not the NE Independent (astonishingly, as he writes a weekly column for them; you think they would have been interested) or the Patch.  I personally (and many others I am sure) think Tim's efforts to preserve and protect our North Kingstown heritage and to educate us about it, is important, consequently, I am encouraged when he IS recognized.  So, to all: Preserve Rhode Island is giving Tim the Antoinette F.Downing Award for Volunteer Service at a Historic Preservation Celebration on September 29th at the Weekapaug Inn in Westerly.  Sure if you want an invitation, Preserve RI would be delighted to send you one.
