Firefighters Battle Yorktown Road Fire

The fire broke out at around 2 p.m. Sunday.

North Kingstown firefighters extinguished a house fire at 206 Yorktown Road on Sunday.

The fire was reported at around 2 p.m. and saw light smoke coming from the house upon arrival. They soon found the fire on the first floor.

The fire was knocked down and under control in less than 30 minutes.

The house two-story, two-family house was built in 1942 and owned by Robert J. and Terri Viani of Pomfret Center, Conn., according to town records.
