Former Skipper Helps Assumption Football Squad to NCAA Playoffs
Jason Flanagan played at North Kingstown High, and this year he helped the Greyhounds to a record season.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI—Jason Flanagan is making a statement on the football field, according to Assumption College. He helped the Greyhounds turn in an "historic season" and earn a berth in the NCAA playoffs for the second year in a row.
The Greyhounds are Division II, and they were ranked nationally going into 2016 play. Last year, they finished 9-1, won the Northeast-10 Championship, and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Hounds finished this season 9-3.

It was a team effort, according to fourth-year Head Coach Bob Chesney.
"When these student-athletes signed on to join our team, they were signing on to make a difference in our community on and off the field," he said. "To be able to see that plan through and earn a spot in back-to-back NCAA playoff appearances is testament to all of their hard work. Regardless of their individual roles, they all contributed in some way to this season's success. To have Assumption recognized as a national power is what we had hoped to accomplish when we brought these young men into this program, and it is very humbling to be able to work side by side with each of them as we continue to see this plan through."
