Friends in Service to Humanity (FISH) Lunch and Annual Meeting June 28, 2016
On June 28, 2016, Friends in Service to Humanity (FISH) will hold their lunch and annual meeting at the Beechwood Center in North Kingstown. From June 2015-May 2016, volunteers for FISH provided 1,497 rides to residents of North Kingstown and east Exeter who otherwise could not get to their medical, dental, or social service appointments. After the retirement of the indefatigable Lynn Johnson last year, FISH is now chaired by Kathy Isenbergh of North Kingstown.
If you have some time, please consider helping FISH. Volunteer drivers, using their own vehicles, are always needed to give rides on days and times of their choosing. Through a grant from the Salvation Army, drivers' car expenses may be reimbursed at fifty cents per mile.
Even if you don't drive, you can help. Telephone volunteers answer the FISH line from their own home (or cell phone), usually one day every other week. Other volunteers help with scheduling, mailings, coordination, and managing expenses. If you'd like more information or would like to donate to or volunteer with FISH, please call the FISH line at 295-1121.
