Get in the Christmas Spirit with the Lafayette Band

Free holiday concert December 3 in Wickford -- come for the live music, and a sing-along, too

Are you ready for the return of live Christmas music? The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown is prepared to deliver.

After missing last year because of the pandemic, the band is back to perform its traditional Holiday Concert at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, December 3, in the First Baptist Church, 34 Main St., Wickford.

Music Director Bethany Clarke Bromley will conduct a program of festive holiday music enjoyed by people of all ages. The playlist will include songs such as Sleigh Ride, White Christmas, Feliz Navidad, and Swing Those Bells, plus medleys such as Sounds of Christmas, Carols from the British Isles, Christmas from the '50s, and a Christmas sing-along.

Admission is free. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Musicians will follow Covid-19 protocols to observe safe performance practices. Masks are required for audience members.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 135 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
