Gilbert Stuart Museum-Opening Reception for Jane Stuart art exhibition

The Gilbert Stuart Birthplace and Museum invites you to the opening reception of Jane: Heir to the Stuart Genius—a Rhode Island Masters Exhibition on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Admission to the opening is by donation. Suggested donation $10. Museum members free. The exhibition of original art by Gilbert Stuart’s daughter, Jane, will be on view in the Museum's gallery from June 18 through October 10, 2016. It will feature a collection of works by Jane Stuart (1808-1888) borrowed from museums, historical societies, and private collections around New England. This is a rare opportunity to see a number of Jane Stuart paintings in the same gallery space with original works by her father.
