Go to the Wickford Farmers Market Now

It’s a lazy hot day, you’re not sure what to eat tonight, you could use a cup of coffee and a break from whatever humdrum thing you’re doing.

Get up, get out of that chair and head down to the Wickford Farmers Market.

If you don’t go, you’re missing out on RI Omega-3 Dressings, Shepherd’s Harvest Soap, fresh tomato and strawberry plants from Healey Farm, incredible addictive pickles from Carolyn’s Kitchen, homemade potato chips from Wild Harvest!, Presto StrangeO Coffee, and on and on.

It’s at Brown and Main Streets, behind Rite-Aid. It’s open from 1 to 5 p.m. and more information can be had at the Historic Wickford Village website, or the I Love Wickford Village Facebook page.

While it’s not often that we at Patch bark orders at our readers (we’d rather you bark at us!), we were late to the game in getting out word that the market was open for the season. Perhaps this is an effort to make up for that.

If you can’t make it, the market is open every Thursday from June through September.

Along with great local food, you’ll find flowers, crafts, organic products, plants, baked goods and best of all — a chance to mingle with local growers, artists, craftspeople and your neighbors.
