Goal! Wilson's Raises $148k+ in Crowdtilt Campaign
Three hours were left on the clock when Wilson's of Wickford, which was facing closure by August, crossed the $148,000 goal marker Monday.
They did it!
Wilsons of Wickford has crossed the goal maker in their crowdfunding campaign to save – and re-launch – their store, registering a few hundred dollars more than the $148,000 they needed to raise by 10 p.m. Monday.
With more than three hours left, the store has raised $148,794.34 with a donation from Don Tefft being the one tilt the campaign over the goal line.

They woke up Monday morning with $23,000 to go and fingers were crossed as the number steadily ticked up throughout the day.

The campaign was launched as the business faced a make-it-or-break it situation with vendors unwilling to ship fall merchandise without immediate payment. The pressure sparked the idea to turn to the public to help them raise enough money to not only stock the shelves this fall, but revamp the business from the bottom up.
“We’re hoping to reinvent the store.,” Wilson said.
