Hit Parade at Wilson Park For Thursday's District 10's and 11's Games
The outstanding hitting from our rising star 10 and 11 year old District teams carries both teams to impressive victories.
It was a great evening of North Kingstown baseball at Wilson Park. The weather was absolutely ideal for baseball. Both combined North Kingstown/Wickford teams (10's and 11's) were in a similar position in their respective tournaments. Both needed a win to continue playing this summer. And both had an opportunity to get that much needed win in front of their home crowd.
First, the District 10's took on an impressive Warwick Continental/American team. From the beginning of the game, our North Kingstown/Wickford team brought their "A" game to the plate. Consistent line drives from these rising stars brought in run after run. Solid pitching and defense along with a massive hitting attack proved to be too much for Warwick as North Kingstown/Wickford cruised to victory 15-5. Congratulations to the players, Coaches Venditto, Perry, and Mascena, and the many families and friends in attendance.
And then, it was the District 11's getting the better of Westerly by a score of 12-2. Tons of great hitting, base running was amazing, pitching was superb, and the stands were once again filled with family and friends. Even some of the players from the District 10 team stayed to watch the older kids play. Congrats to the players, Coaches Arnold, Beattie, and Andrews, and the player's families. A most memorable night for North Kingstown American Little League and Wickford Little League baseball. Great job to all volunteers who helped out on this very successful baseball night in North Kingstown.
