Kingston Center Takes Residents To Historic Beavertail Lighthouse
West Kingston Residents Mix Education with Fun on the Latest Summer Excursion

By Jeff Jacomowitz
On Thursday August 2, staff from Kingston Center on Gardiner Road in West Kingston took eleven residents from the facility on a gorgeous outing to the historic lighthouse at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, RI. The excursion was filled with a tour guide explaining to the residents and staff of the general history about the lighthouse and the park. Later residents enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich picnic right on the premises.

“Trips like these really light up the faces of our residents,” says Kim Zyma, Recreation Director at Kingston Center. “The residents want to return here one more time before the cold weather comes. I can’t see why not.”
