Lafayette Band Presents Armed Forces Salute, Sunday, May 15
The free concert to honor those who served in the military will be performed at St. Bernard Church, Wickford.

The Armed Forces Salute, a free concert by the Lafayette Band of North Kingstown to honor those who've served in the military, is back after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The performance is set for Sunday, May 15, at 3:00 p.m., St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road (at Ten Rod Road), North Kingstown. Interim Music Director Stephen Grueb will conduct a program of patriotic favorites, Broadway tunes, and big band and swing music. The event will be emceed by Lt. Col. (Ret.) Lee Hardgrove, U.S. Army, who is a Lafayette Band member.
The Armed Forces Salute is a community tribute to past and present members of all branches of the U.S. military. All veterans and family members in attendance will be recognized.

Admission is free and all ages are welcomed. Voluntary donations at the door will be appreciated and shared between the Providence VA Medical Center Voluntary Services Office, to aid veterans in need, and the band's free community concert program. The concert is funded by the North Kingstown Arts Council.
The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
