Mark July 21 for the next Lafayette Band performance

Free concert begins at 7 p.m., at the bandshell, N.K. Town Beach

This Wednesday, July 21, the Lafayette Band will perform another free concert at the North Kingstown Town Beach, 10 Beach St., Wickford. Bethany Clarke Bromley will direct the band in a spirited program of old favorites and new hits.

Audience members should bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Admission is free. There is no rain date.

After the 21st, the band has two more Wednesday night concerts scheduled this summer: July 28, 7 p.m., at the bandshell, and August 4, 6:30 p.m., at the North Kingstown Free Library.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 135 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band's members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
