QUILT
SHOW:  STITCHING STARS

Westerly,
RI, October 18 – 20

Nearly a
hundred quilt artists from Rhode Island and Connecticut will be showing their
quilts at the Ninigret Quilters biennial Quilt Show: Stitching Stars.  The show opens on Friday, October 18 and will
be open through Sunday, October 20.  The
hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on each of the three days and the setting is
the historical Westerly Armory, 41 Railroad Avenue in Westerly, RI.

More
than one hundred quilts will be on display ranging from traditional to modern
designs, art quilts, and wall hangings.
Many members have submitted their quilts for judging by a National Quilting Association Certified Quilt Judge so
expect to see ribbons hanging from a number of quilts.   Demonstrations and Q&A sessions with the
artists are scheduled so you can learn the stories behind the quilts.  Attendees can make a bid at the Miniature Quilt
Silent Auction; proceeds will benefit the Westerly Armory Restoration
Fund.  There will also be vendors of
machines, everything you need to quilt, hand-woven baskets and you can find
treasures at the Gently Used books and Scraps tables.   Need to
take a break?  There will be beverages
and light snacks available along with tables to sit down, relax and enjoy.

Children can enjoy a scavenger hunt and those between the ages of
8 and 17 who attend the show will have a chance to win one of three sewing
machines.

A
donation of $7 is asked of each adult.

information.

“We
are pleased to be showcasing more than 100 quilts made by our members. They run
the gamut from beginner to professional, miniature to king size, traditional to
modern.  Ninigret Quilters never cease to
inspire me with their creative spirit,” says quilt show coordinator, Tina Craig
of Wakefield, RI.
