In NK, Christmas Trees Recycled Free Until Jan. 31
If you're itching to get rid of your Christmas tree, the transfer station is accepting trees starting Dec. 26.
North Kingstown residents have until Jan. 31 to dispose of Christmas trees for free at the North Kingstown Transfer Station.
The transfer station, located at 345 Devils Foot Road, is open with regular hours on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 and trees will be accepted until the end of January.
Be sure all ornaments and decorations have been removed from the tree before dropping it off.

The tree also must be removed from any bag used to transport it.
The transfer station is open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
