The Board of Directors of the NK Food Pantry held the
Annual Volunteer Picnic last Thursday at the Little Red
School House grounds. This yearly event is a way of
saying Thank You to all the people who keep the Pantry
running day to day. About 50 volunteers and their quests
were in attendance.
Food and refreshments were provided by Stop & Shop
Markets on Ten Rod Road and French Town Road as well
as members of the Board.
Dan Pryor, Manager of Stop & Shop, 10 Rod Road, North
Kingstown presented the Board of Directors with a check
for $2417. This represented funds donated by Stop &
Shop customers at the check out register.
Maria Damario, the Volunteer of the Year, was also
recognized at the event. Maria has assisted at the Food
Pantry for several years and has been instrumental in the
administrative functioning of this expanding organization.
Her development and maintenance of client databases
has made the NK Food Pantry a very efficient program.
The Board asks anyone interested in joining Maria and the
other volunteers to please call (401) 885-3663.
