NK Man's Heartfelt Story Lands Him in L.L. Bean Catalog
A North Kingstown man's touching story earns him a spot in the latest L.L Bean catalog.

R.J. Sheldon grew up in Virginia, where fishing and playing outdoors was a way of life for everyone – that is, everyone except him. Sheldon spent much of his youth helping to support his mother and sister. While most kids were out fishing with their fathers on the weekend, Sheldon was working to help the family get by.
Recently married and eyeing family life in the near future, Sheldon (now a North Kingstown resident) wants to finally have the childhood outdoors that he never got to experience. Sheldon wrote a heartfelt letter (click here to read it) to L.L. Bean in response to its Get Out(fitted) Gear Giveaway.
Not only did Sheldon win a bounty of gear (including clothing and items to help him pursue his dream of learning to fly fish), L.L. Bean was so intrigued by Sheldon's story that they featured his story in a blog post last week and in its catalog – scheduled to hit homes on June 26.
