When the officer caught up to truck, Barnes parked in a driveway on Lawnwood Road, got out of his truck and allegedly yelled at the officer, “Why are you harassing me?”

The officer told Barnes that he had been followed due to a complaint. Barnes stated that was impossible and repeatedly stated he had not been at Gillian’s that night. In fact, Barnes denied being in the area of Post Road/Tower Hill Road entirely, despite the fact that the officer claimed to have seen him drive by him before the complaint was made. When police asked Barnes if he had been drinking that night, he allegedly said, “I don’t drink. I’m only 20.”

He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and refused to take a Breathalyzer.

Police pulled Diffley over after watching her allegedly swerve in and out of lanes on Post Road. According to reports, Diffley’s door was slightly open when police approached her car and she smelled of alcohol.

Diffley allegedly told police she was leaving East Greenwich and heading to Cranston. She also told officers she thought she was in West Warwick, not North Kingstown. She allegedly told police she had two rum and Cokes that night.

Additionally, Diffley reportedly failed her field sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. At police headquarters, she refused to take a Breathalyzer.
