NK Town Council President Endorses Casimiro for House District 31
Julie Casimiro, a Democrat, is challenging incumbent Republican Doreen Costa for the district seat.

The president of the North Kingstown Town Council, Elizabeth Dolan, has endorsed Julie Casimiro for the Rhode Island House District 31 seat.
Casimiro, a Democrat, is challenging incumbent Republican Doreen Costa in District 31 and said she is thrilled to get Dolan’s endorsement.
“I am thrilled that Liz has put her confidence in me as the candidate to best represent House District 31. Liz has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Town of North Kingstown, so her endorsement means a great deal. I am humbled by her support” Casimiro said in a statement.

Dolan said that Casimiro is the best candidate to represent the residents of House District 31 and “poised and professional and is committing herself to public service for all of the right reasons – to focus on substantive issues and legislation that will promote our economy, our infrastructure, and education… all efforts that will keep our residents young to old, here in Rhode Island.”
Casimiro has lived in North Kingstown for 17 years and is the director of development and director of the Providence Children’s Initiative for Family Service of Rhode Island.

Casimiro announced her candidacy in June and touted her experience in the private and nonprofit sectors, which she said “gives her experience and a broad perspective.”
Costa was first elected in 2010 and defeated a landscape and construction company owner, Steve Campo, by 429 votes in 2012.
