Obituary: Doris Irene Smith Rambikur, 89

Doris Irene Smith Rambikur, age 89, of North Kingstown, RI died on March 5, 2015

She loved and served her Lord for many years; 41 years in Argentina and the remainder elsewhere.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, The Reverend Herbert Rambikur, and was the daughter of the late Clifford Jay Smith and Agnes (Wheeler) Smith

Doris leaves one daughter, Jean Bate (Ken Neff), and two sons; Andrew (Marie) Rambikur and Stephen (Sheryl) Rambikur, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She met her husband while attending The Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and together they served as missionaries with the Conservative Baptist Mission Society.

Doris was instrumental in creating and establishing a Christian Literature Ministry in Northern Argentina and was active in Christian Education and Music Ministry.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a college student and claimed the Lord’s promise in John 11:25 “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

Viewing will be on Tuesday, March 10th, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Both will be held at Exeter Chapel, 765 Ten Road, Exeter, RI.
