Obituary: Edward R. Trojan, Sr., 85, Korean War Veteran

Edward R. Trojan, Sr., 85, of North Kingstown, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Edward R. Trojan, Sr., 85, of North Kingstown, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Rita M. (Delehanty) Trojan.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John F. and Mary A. (Bernard) Trojan.
A US Navy Veteran, he served in the Korean War; and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Branch 42.

Mr. Trojan worked in construction and was a member of the Teamsters Local 251 and the American Legion. He worked for the EPA in Narragansett for over twenty years before retiring at the age of 79.

He enjoyed helping and mentoring people; and was the neighborhood gentleman that would take anyone under his wing. All that knew Eddie walked away richer in more ways than one.

He leaves two daughters, Margaret Trojan and Barbara Trojan Bruskie and her husband John all of North Kingstown; two brothers, Joseph Trojan and his wife Henrietta of Cumberland and Richard Trojan and his wife Paulette of Pawtucket; two sisters, Dorothy Beaulieu of Attleboro, MA and Irene Midgeley of Pawtucket; and three grandchildren, Maclynn Trojan, Justin and Shannon Bruskie. He was also the brother-in-law of Maureen O’Neill and Anne Delehanty both of Lowell, MA; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Edward R. Trojan, Jr.; and brother of the late Mary Brown, John and James Trojan.

His funeral will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 at 9:15am from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
