Obituary: Gertrude A. (Abbott) Place, 94

Gertrude A. (Abbott) Place, 94, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Roberts Health Centre. She was the wife of the late Frank B. Place. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Abbott and Maryann (Hindle) Abbott.

Mrs. Place worked as a Packer at King Fastener Company of North Kingstown for many years until her retirement. She was a Communicant of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wickford and a member of the North Kingstown Senior Center.

She leaves her two loving daughters, Beverly A. Adamo of Guilford, CT, and Alice E. Manfredi of Cranston. Cherished grandmother of Holly H. Pierce of North Kingstown, Lisa A. Sepe of Clinton, CT, and Ronald R. Manfredi of Cranston. She was the sister of the late George Abbott, David Abbott, May Reynolds, Ellen Stringfellow, and Elizabeth Davis.

Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Pocasset Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
