Obituary: James B. Kirkpatrick Jr., 63

The following obituary was provided by Hill Funeral Home in East Greenwich.

James B. Kirkpatrick, Jr. of North Kingstown passed away April 5 at Rhode Island Hospital with his wife, Paula Powers Kirkpatrick, by his side. He was 63 years old.

He leaves behind his daughters Faith and Caroline, his sister Dorothy and brother-in-law William O'Donneell as well as nephews William and Andrew O'Donnell. 

Born in 1949 in Byrn Mawr, PA, he was the son of James B. and Caroline Hoehler Kirkpatrick. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and has been associated with Northwestern Mutual for more than 40 years.

He was active in charity work and served as the president of the Literacy Volunteers of R.I. – now called ProLiteracy – before taking place on the National Board. 

Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ProLiteracy. Burial will take place at Torch Lake in Alden, MI.
