Obituary: Joyce Whitehead, 86

Joyce Whitehead, 86 of No. Kingstown, R.I., native of No. Scituate, passed away peacefully July 17. She was the wife of the late Richard T. Whitehead, loving mother of Tammy Whitehead, husband William, the late Richard Whitehead Jr. She was 1 of 12 survived by her oldest sister Bernice Hyman and youngest brother Gleason Cookson.

After her successful career with Bristol Myers, she spent retirement years traveling and wintering in Fla. She taught senior exercise classes, volunteered in Senior Centers, and wrote 2 books. She loved and worshiped the Lord and was passionate about local and world politics. She will be greatly missed!

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
