Obituary: Paul J. Russo, 75

Paul J. Russo of Land's End Drive in North Kingstown passed away Friday, Dec. 14 at home. He was 75 years old. By his side was his wife of 49 years, Janet.

Born in Providence, Russo was the son of the late John and Rose Russo. He graduated from LaSalle Academy, Providence College and then Suffolk Law School with honors. He served in the US Air National Guard and as a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association. He was an attorney and senior partner with Kirshenbaum & Kirshenbaum for 49 years.

He was a devoted fan of all things Rhode Island, Red Sox, and wine. He served as a coach for Babe Ruth League baseball for 30 years; he served as a coach for clients, friends, and family for a lifetime. 

He is survived by his wife, two sons (Paul and Christopher), and daughter Susan; daughters-in-law Maria and Cheryl, son-in-law, Jeffrey Benabio, MD, and grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Jessica, and Alexandra; brothers, John of North Providence, Peter of Scituate, Lawrence of Johnston, and sister, Mary of Newport.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Ave, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
