Obituary: Thomas L. Henry, 91
Thomas Henry of North Kingstown passed away earlier this week at the age of 91.

Thomas L. Henry of North Kingstown died Monday, April 1. He was 91 years old. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church, East Greenwich.
A graduate of Aldrich High School, he was a World War II Navy veteran and remained active in the reserves for 20 years. He was a former regional manager of the Navy commissary for the Northeast.

Henry is predeceased by his wife, Betty (Lee) Henry. The son of the late Margaret (Ryan) and C. Walter Henry of Warwick, he leaves a brother, Francis “Fra” Henry of Warwick and several nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his sister, Natalie Henry Macomber, and brothers, Vincent and Jack Henry.
Henry was a founding member of Quidnessett Country Club. Henry and his wife spent many happy summers at Bonnet Shores Beach Club in Narragansett. As avid golfers, they were also members of Golf Hammock Country Club in Sebring, Florida. He earned many golf and bowling trophies and was a head basketball coach at Hendricken High School as well as coach of St. Peter's (Warwick) CYO basketball team. For many years, Tom had season tickets for his beloved Providence College Friars basketball team.

His funeral will be held Saturday, Apr. 6 at 9 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich. Calling hours are Friday, Apr. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can kindly be made to the American Heart Association.
