Obituary: Wayne B. Rockwell, 75

Wayne B. Rockwell, 75, died peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at South County Hospital. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late Herbert R. Rockwell and Vena E. (Anderson) Rockwell.

Wayne was employed as a Maintenance Worker with the RI Department of Transportation, worked for the North Kingstown Highway Department, and for Paul Bailey’s Chrysler, Jeep, & Dodge delivering parts. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 12, where he enjoyed cooking and bartending. He was a member of The Wickford Club, the East Greenwich Veteran Firesmans Association, and the Coventry F.O.P.

He leaves his four loving children: Sherri L. Zelen and her husband Rob of Exeter, Shelly L. Richardson and her husband Chris of Massachusetts, Herb Rockwell and his companion Kelly of South Kingstown, and Jennifer Rockwell of South Kingstown. Cherished grandfather of five grandchildren. He was the brother of Peggy J. Browning and Lorraine R. Jordan, both of North Kingstown.

His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 10:30 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
