Photo Contest Benefitting Graduating NKHS Seniors
Enter the 7th annual Richard B. Dunne Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund Photography Contest. Proceeds support scholarships for NKHS seniors.
The Richard B. Dunne, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund (formerly "The New North Kingstown High School Scholarship Fund") was formed in 2001 to celebrate the opening of the new North Kingstown High School building. The fund was renamed in 2008 to honor Richard Dunne, a longtime teacher at the high school who was instrumental in creating and fundraising for the scholarship. Dunne died unexpectedly in August 2007.
To date, the RBD Memorial Scholarship Fund has awarded 69 scholarships valued at almost $70,000 to members of NKHS graduating classes. Richard Dunne always believed that education comes in all shapes and sizes. Keeping with this vision, we award six (6) $1,000 scholarships yearly to students furthering their education at 4-year colleges, 2-year colleges and vocational/technical schools.
Our annual photo contest is the primary fundraising event for the scholarships.
