Photographers' Alert: The Wickford Art Association Seeks Artists to Exhibit at the Upcoming Show

Winners take away cash prizes at the juried photography show, which runs Oct. 29 through Nov. 20.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The Wickford Art Association, which will hold its annual photography show starting Oct. 29, is looking for artists who want to exhibit their work and try for cash prizes.

According to Judy Salvadore, gallery director, the popular show celebrates photography, including film, digital, cyanotype and large format."

"The Call for Art is on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Salvadore said. It's an open show, so non-members can also apply and will find the submission guidelines and fees online.

The show is juried by Lindsay Elgin.

Elgin teaches photography at Rhode Island School of Design. She is also a working photographer, who digitizes rare books, materials and objects from the Brown University Library's Special Collections.

Her work has been exhibited "throughout New England, as well as Chicago, Tucson, New York City, Glasgow, and Edinburgh," Salvadore said.

The show runs October 29 to November 20. Admission is free. The opening reception is Sunday, Oct. 30, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. 36 Beach St., North Kingstown, R.I.
