Police Say NK Man Raped Woman he Met at Narragansett Bars

Christoper Forlasto, 28, allegedly raped a woman he met in Narragansett on July 16.

A 28-year-old North Kingstown man is facing rape charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman he met in Narragansett last week.

Police said that Christopher Forlasto, of 62 Brenton Court, met the victim and her sister at George’s of Galilee on July 16 and they then went to Charlie O’s before he drove the victim to his house where he beat and raped her.

The victim is being treated at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., police said.

North Kingstown and Narragansett detectives collaborated on the investigation and Forlasto was arrested on Friday after he was pulled over on his way home, police said in a release.

All told, Forlasto is being charged with first-degree sexual assault (rape) and assault with intent to commit specified felonies.

Forlasto is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston and is due to return to court on Aug. 3.
