Providence Gridiron Club To Hold Annual Awards Night

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The annual awards night is set for Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. at the Quonset 'O' Club, 200 Lt. James Brown Road, North Kingstown. The Providence Gridiron Club will honor outstanding linemen, back and coach from each of the six Interscholastic League divisions.

The honorees are:

Division 1A

Outstanding Lineman- Kwitye Paye, Bishop Hendricken; Outstanding Back- Sean Coyne, Portsmouth; and Outstanding Coach- Ryan Moniz-Portsmouth.

Division 1B

Outstanding Lineman- David Kelly, Barrington; Outstanding Back-Sam Coleman, LaSalle Academy; and Outstanding Coach- Pete Rios, Central.

Division 2A

Outstanding Lineman - Ivan Goretoy, West Warwick; Outstanding Back-Cody Stetson, West Warwick; and Outstanding Coach - Duane Maranda, Westerly.

Division 2B

Outstanding Lineman -Gladior Kwesiah, Shea as Outstanding Lineman; Outstanding Back - Yanique Duarte, Shea; and Outstanding Coach-Art Bell, Middletown.

Division 3A

Outstanding Lineman - Zach Pinault, Smithfield; Outstanding Back - Elijiah Matthews, Juanita Sanchez; and Outstanding Coach - Steve Nadeau, Juanita Sanchez.

Division 3B

Outstanding Lineman - Kevin Morreira, Central Falls; Outstanding Back - Zachary Lefebvre, Burrillville; and Outstanding Coach- Gennaro Ferraro, Burrillville.

The Laurence Gallogly Humanitarian Award is being presented to John Merolla and the Lou Cimini Officiating Award is going to Jack Fields. Also on that night there will be superlatives awards, as well as awards to outstanding players from the four football playing colleges in Rhode Island. These will be announced that night at the dinner.

Tickets for this affair are $40 and reservations are required.
