Public Forum on Major Wickford El Development is Thursday
A local developer's plan to drastically transform the former Wickford Elementary School begins the first of many public hearings this week.

Local developer Andy Kinnecom unveiled his plan to transform the former Wickford Elementary School into an art hotel with luxury condos last month.
Now, the long planning process begins in earnest on Thursday (Oct. 8) during the Wickford Economic Development Advisory Board’s meeting at the Senior Center at 44 Beach St.
Kinnecom will be on hand for the meeting to answer questions.

Kinnecom is proposing a $40 million development that would preserve the integrity of the school building’s architecture along with two new buildings, a cooking school, art school, offices, conference center and condos and lofts.

Also on Thursday night’s agenda is an update on town beach facility improvements, the Narragansett Rune Stone and Post Road.
