Red Cross Names North Kingstown Man to Board
James A. Calibi has been elected to the Rhode Island Board of Directors.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI – The American Red Cross has tapped James A. Calbi, of North Kingstown, for its Rhode Island Board of Directors. According to Chuck Saletta, Calibi's term runs through June 30, 2019.
"Jim currently is senior vice-president of investments and senior resident director at Merrill Lynch in Providence," Saletta said. "He manages more than 30 financial advisors and is a senior member of the Del Nero, Calbi, and Abbate Group wealth management team."
“I am pleased to welcome Jim to our team,” said Tempie Thompson, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Red Cross. “His commitment to Rhode Island is outstanding, and his expertise within the financial services industry will enable us to continue efficiently delivering the Red Cross mission of preventing, preparing for, and responding to emergencies.”

Saletta said directors "provide guidance and stewardship for the Red Cross and its network of volunteers as the charity provides emergency assistance, disaster relief, and preparedness education. While the local Red Cross primarily serves Rhode Island, volunteer teams are prepared to respond throughout the country and internationally as needed to serve those affected by disaster."
This board appointment won't be Calibi's first rodeo show. He's already on the boards of the Rhode Island Public Broadcasting System and the Bassett Street Condominium Association.

Calibi was graduated from Pace University in New York City. He completed his Certified Financial Planner™ coursework at Bryant.
