Salsa by the Sea is a seaside celebration with Latin flair
and features lively Latin Roots Rock
music provided by Santa Mamba, whose mission is to get the whole world
dancing; and Mambo Pa Ti, Rhode Island’s
premier Latin dance company that will perform and stay to provide group and
personal salsa instruction. The event will commence with a signature sangria
cocktail reception, and be followed by an enticing silent auction and raffle
with international items, electrifying performances, and dancing, dancing,
dancing! The event will benefit the
Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County (DVRCSC) and the Women’s
Resource serving Newport and Bristol Counties (WRC).Proceeds from Salsa by the Sea will help both agencies continue to offer
services to thousands of domestic violence victims, including Helpline and
drop-in services, the residential program, court advocacy, support groups,
counseling, programs for children who witness, education and prevention. The
agencies are known as positive, safe and accessible havens where everyone is
treated with dignity and respect. They envision of a future free from violence
and share a mission to change social conditions, beliefs and behaviors that
perpetuate abuse.
Domestic violence is a public health epidemic—it will take community
involvement to end the cycle of abuse that affects every Rhode Islander. Join
the movement by dancing with both agencies on this very special night.
