SCCAA Offers Medicare Enrollment Help to Seniors

Open enrollment started Oct. 15, 2015.

Medicare open enrollment started Oct. 15, and South County Community Action Agency is offering free assistance to seniors to compare their options under Medicare Part D and the Advantage plan.

“Navigating Medicare can be intimidating for senior citizens, particularly with the changes in plans and costs that are made every year,” said South County Community Action CEO Joseph DeSantis. “Our goal at South County Community Action Agency is to ensure that every senior gets the support to find the right information and make the choice that’s best for them.”

SCCAA’s Senior Health Insurance Program [SHIP] counselors will be available to review clients’ options on Medicare.gov and “provide unbiased information about the plan that bests suits each individual,” DeSantis explained.
