Sunday Morning Mailbox Shenanigans Still A Mystery
Hoodlums were busy last weekend in the areas around Exeter Road, causing damage totaling just over $1,000.

Some residents in the area of Exeter Road may not be getting their Netflix movies on time after a string of apparent mailbox vandalisms early last Sunday morning.
According to police reports, four of the reported vandalisms took place on Lafayette Road, six on Exeter Road and two on Dawn Marie Court.
A resident of Lafayette Road reported the first incident after hearing a vehicle drive past his house at a high speed. A few minutes later, he heard it drive by again and then heard a loud bang and voices outside the house. According to police reports, when the resident went outside to investigate, he noticed a running vehicle parked on the street, and a man holding a mailbox in his hand outside the vehicle. As the resident approached to confront the occupants, the man dropped the mailbox and got into the vehicle, during which time a second vehicle entered the road approaching the resident. The second vehicle honked at him and the two vehicles drove down Lafayette Road towards Exeter Road.

Later in the morning, after police made contact with the owners of the other properties that had been vandalized, a resident of Exeter Road said that at approximately 3 a.m. he heard voices in his front yard and when he came outside, a man was holding his mailbox which had just been pulled from its post. When the man saw the resident, he threw the mailbox across the road into the field and got into a minivan which drove towards Lafayette Road. The resident confirmed that there was another vehicle present besides the minivan.
Several other victims said they didn’t hear anything during the night due to their houses being set farther off the road, but that they noticed the damage later on in the morning when they went outside.
The damaged mailboxes are valued at a total of $1,070.
