NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI - From The Davisville Free Library: The public is invited to the Davisville Free Library on Saturday, March 10, 2018 for a centennial celebration of the founding of the Davisville Free Library Association. The association, started by a few Davisville book-lovers, provided the impetus for the building the present Davisville Free Library.

This will be an all-day party for all ages, starting in the morning with children’s events: 10:00 am “Storytime with Birthday Stories and Activities” for our youngest patrons, followed by Cupcake Wars (pre-registration required) at 12:00. Afternoon activities feature: at 1:00 pm, “Snapshot of Davisville in 1918, “a slide show presentation by Library Director Sarah Ornstein and local historian George Loxton; at 2:00 pm, a poetry reading by North Kingstown High School Senior Elisa Quiñones; and at 2:30 pm, a visit from Isabelle Gillespie, first Chairperson of the Davisville Free Library Association (historical re-creation by Marilyn Harris) with a Sing-a- Long and period fiddle music by Chris Heinzmann. We will end the day’s celebration at 3:00 pm with birthday cake and refreshments.
