WBCA Teachers Selected to Participate in Google's EdTechTeacher Jamboree in Boston
Excellence in Teaching: Two WBCA teachers will attend Google's EdTech Conference to make 2015 "the best year for students' learning."
Two teachers from West Bay Christian Academy were selected to participate in Google’s EdTechTeacher Jamboree, where 200 teachers convene to explore how to integrate technology into their curriculum to make 2015 “the best year for student learning.”
Ms. Wall, the Middle School Social Studies and Math teacher, addressed how technology can help Middle School students explore history and the cultures of the world without their passports. Mrs. Lokey, the Computer/ Technology teacher, focused her application on using technology tools - like web pages, podcasts, and interactive video games - to accommodate different learning styles.
West Bay has made a concerted effort this year to incorporate technology into the school in a more rigorous way. The school recently completed a school-wide Technology Plan, and last month the school received a donation of computers from a local company to update their existing computer lab. Additionally, this year the Early Learning Program (Preschool - PreKindergarten) won a federal grant which will provide iPads to every ELP classroom.
