Weather Looks Perfect for Daffodil Days in Wickford This Weekend

It has become a springtime tradition in Wickford with family fun, shopping deals, baby goats, a walking tour and the Roaming Railroad!

Daffodil Days in Wickford is coming up this weekend and it appears Mother Nature is blessing this year’s festivities with perfect weather.

The National Weather Service is forecasting sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s — ideal for visiting some goats, taking advantage of shopping deals, take a walking tour with local historian Tim Cranston or even ride along the Roaming Railroad!

Here’s a rundown of the festivities:

Saturday, April 18:
From 2 to 4 p.m.: Reynolds Barn will be at Beauty and the Bath. Come meet baby goats and enjoy a free hand scrub with their North Kingstown-made products.

Noon: “The Story Behind Brown Street” - a walking tour guided by town historian Tim Cranston. He’ll cover the history of the street and many of its buildings. Walk starts at monument in Updike Park.

10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Midnight Sun and the Grateful Heart host a wellness day. Stop by for free chair massage and other activities. (17 West Main St.)

Noon to 4 p.m.: Village Faire offers a “make it-take it” craft. Swing by the deck and make a daffodil wreath for hair. Crown yourself prince or queen of spring! (83 Brown St.)

Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 9:

Noon to 5 p.m.: Ride the Roaming Railroad! Adults and children alike can ride around the village on a charming trackless train.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Yes! Galery will be hosting “Alpacas on the Porch!” - visit with some lovable alpacas from Kave Rock Farm. (17 Brown St.)
Noon to 5 p.m.: Scrimshaw demonstration at Mystic Scrimshanders. (15 West Main St.)

Sunday, April 19:

Noon: Daffy Dogs and Humans Parade — parade starts at Wickford Elementary at 99 Phillips St. and and ends at Village Veterinary Center at 170 West Main St. The daffiest dog and human will be crowned. Prizes, refreshments and tours of the facility follow. Bikes are welcome. Leashes are expected.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Free photo session at White Dog Studio, 170 West Main St.

Noon to 4 p.m.: E-waste dropoff hosted by Indiecycle. You’ll find it in the town parking lot.
