Weekend Agenda: Free Concert, 5K & Pirates

Check out what's happening in North Kingstown this weekend.

It's the last weekend before school starts back up, so make the most of it! 

It looks like the weather will mostly be cooperating with us with highs in the 70s for both Saturday and Sunday. (Of course, it is Rhode Island, so who really knows?)

On Friday, Aug. 23
The Providence Brigade Band is holding a free concert at the North Kingstown Free Library. Bring your blankets, chairs and even a picnic dinner for this one! In case the weather doesn't cooperate and the concert gets moved indoors – please be nice, Mother Nature – register for this program by calling 401-294-3306. The concert starts at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 24

Head over to Casey Farm for the Coastal Growers' Market from 9 a.m. to noon. Grab some local produce for your last grilling session of the summer!

It's your last chance to catch the pirates at Smith's Castle. Stop by the site from noon to 4 p.m. for this special program. Learn more here.

Have a child heading to kindergarten? Celebrate the milestone – and prepare for it! –with Kickoff to Kindergarten at the high school. All are welcome to attend this free program. Runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Get more info here.

On Sunday, Aug. 24

Want to squeeze in a 5K before the end of the summer? Head down to Quonset for the 3rd Annual HomeRun 5K for Habitat. This run/walk starts at 10 a.m. at the Quonset O Club. Learn more and register for the race here.
