Wickford Art Association Announces High School Scholarship Winners
The Wickford Art Association presented its annual Scholarship Fund awards to three Rhode Island public high school senior art students.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI—High school artists from Portsmouth, Bristol, Providence and Scituate have won cash scholarship prizes for college plus an invitation to exhibit at the 55th Wickford Art Festival in July. According to the Wickford Art Association, which presented the annual Scholarship Fund awards on March 31, the winners are
- 1st Place - $2,500: Remy Poissen from Classical High School, Providence;
- 2nd Place - $1.500: Mathew Charles Zanni from Ponaganset High School, North Scituate;
- 3rd Place - $1,000: Rebecca Steinbach from Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth; and
The Rhode Island Art Education Association winner is:
- Presidents Award -$500: Jackson Kneath from Mount Hope High School, Bristol.
Also, nine students received Honorable Mention. They are:

Tiffany LaRose, North Providence High School;
Shannon Mathis, Middletown High School;
Elinor Swanson, South Kingstown High School; and
Avery Weckman, Narragansett High School.
Each Rhode Island public high school choose one senior art student for consideration. The competition uses National Scholastic Standards overseen by the Rhode Island Art Educators Association.
