Your Guide: Last Weekend Before School Starts
Check out what's happening in NK this weekend.

Tuesday is the big day for many students as they hop on the bus and head to their first day of kindergarten. It's a big milestone – and one that decidedly comes along with some anxiety and worries.
Fear not! The North Kingstown Office of Family Learning is jumping in to make the transition as seamless and painless as possible with a "Kickoff to Kindergarten" event at the high school.
The event is free and open to the public and includes fun activities (courtesy of the West Bay Family YMCA) and treats. The North Kingstown Police Department will be sponsoring a safety house and school bus rides will also be available. The school department will also have other information available to help ease the transition.

For those not sending a child off to kindergarten, there are still other great events in town to help soak up the last days of summer. For those families who are a bit more active, check out the 3rd Annual HomeRun 5K for Habitat for Humanity in Quonset. Adults can partake in the 5K run/walk and the kids can try out the 1K kids dash.
