North Providence Man Arrested On Gun And Drug Charges: Cops

Troopers executed an "extreme risk protection order search warrant," police said.

NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI — A North Providence man was arrested on gun and drug charges, police said.

Edward Leftwich, 49, was arrested about 10 a.m. Thursday on charges of large capacity feeding devices prohibited, possession of a controlled substance and firing in a compact area, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Leftwich was also arrested on a warrant charging him with violating the conditions of his bail in a cyberstalking or harassment and disorderly conduct case, the release said.

Leftwich was arrested after troopers executed an "extreme risk protection order search warrant," according to the release.

Leftwich was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and taken to Sixth Division District Court for an arraignment, the release said.
