2 Pawtucket Men Charged With Assault With a Deadly Weapon: Cops

The Pawtucket men were apprehended by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.

PAWTUCKET, RI — Two Pawtucket men wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon were apprehended, police said.

Nethan Mercado, 26, and Yoniel Perez, 28, were captured Wednesday by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, the state police said in a media release

Mercado and Perez were charged with assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct, according to the release.

Mercado was also charged with reckless driving, the release said.

Mercado and Perez were wanted in connection with a Johnston Police Department case, according to the release.

The two men were "taken into custody without incident and transported to the Johnston Police Department," the release said.
