Here are the top stories today in Pawtucket:
- Pawtucket Country Club commemorated 9/11 this weekend in a ceremony before its annual member/member tournament. Mayor Donald R. Grebien officiated and recognized the nine Rhode Islanders who died in the attacks. The ceremony was followed by the tolling of the bell by PGA Professional Michael Gelinas. (Providence Journal)
- Police are currently investigating the latest carjacking in the greater Providence area. Shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday morning, a male suspect wearing a ski mask allegedly approached a woman in her vehicle at Huntington and Homestead Avenues. The victim says the suspect pointed a firearm at her and told her to get out of the vehicle, then drove away in her car with her personal belongings. (GoLocalProv)
- The Rhode Island Seafood Festival returned to India Point Park this past weekend, offering attendees waterfront views, a variety of local food and beverages, and live music. (WPRI.com)
- The documentary-style film "The Bridge: A 9/11 Story," tells the story of Lynn Goodchild and Shawn Nassaney, a local couple who lost their lives on United Flight 175 on 9/11. The bridge on the Attleboro and Pawtucket line is dedicated to Goodchild and Nassaney. (Rhode Island Monthly)
