• Home Foot Care Legislation Gains Momentum Toward Passage in RI (rinewstoday.com) — Pawtucket seniors and caregivers could soon get easier access to in-home foot care, as a statewide bill backed by local and state aging advocates moves toward the governor’s desk. The measure, supported by Pawtucket’s senior services director and tied to the city’s AARP Age-Friendly work, would let specially trained nurses provide routine foot care to homebound residents across Rhode Island.    

• 7‑Eleven closing 645 stores. Could Rhode Island be affected? (providencejournal.com) — A major round of 7‑Eleven store closures could affect Rhode Island, and one of the listed locations is on Newport Avenue in Pawtucket. The company hasn’t said which specific stores will close, but it plans to shut 645 underperforming sites while also opening new, more food-focused convenience stores across North America.    

• Man arrested on obstruction charge in Warwick (newportdispatch.com) — State police say a 52-year-old Pawtucket resident was arrested in Warwick after a traffic stop on Bald Hill Road and charged with obstructing an officer, along with a related court warrant. In a separate case, troopers charged a Providence woman with several fraud-related offenses following a SNAP investigation, with both defendants facing future court dates.
